An Garaidh

Story Behind The Song

Written after seeing footage of peat cutters in Orkney. Hence using local musicians.

Song Description

Strings take the theme and (heaven forbid) double in fifths and fourths! A sin! Trumpet, flute and oboe get in on the act. Then there's a bridge and the band joins in - mandolins, drums and fretless bass. A break into 5/4 then a return to the theme.
