This is a terrific album cut, the kind of song that would get significant airplay without being a single. The guitar playing drew me right in along with a good haunting hooky melody. The lyrics seem rather common, sometimes bordering on cliche, yet in this song they work well. Excellent vocals and recording prowess; two things I don't do well, but I'm a songwriter, not a recording artist. This is an artist who is unique enough that he doesn't remind me of someone else. Okay, must I try? How about Dan Fogelberg or Michael Martin Murphy but with some grit?
Here's a poem that's been made it into a song. It's a lament about love lost. Rather abstract with powerful guitar playing. Vocal is powerful and convincing.
like the voice...Brit pop rock vibe...almost Billy Idle-esque
