Lyrics
A boy told me a story one day
Of a man who had left and gone away
Then he said, he would never love again
Nor make another man his friend
I wondered where he had gone
And I thought maybe if I sung this song
He would hear the message that I bring
And know for this reason I sing
If only a man
Would show him what it means to be a man
Tell him its okay to make mistakes
Teach him to take a stand
And most of all love himself
Then belief in what he loves
And never put nothing above
The Spirit inside
Its hard for the boys growing up today
Without a man to teach them their own way
He needs a man who understands
What it is to be a man
When will be open up our eyes yeah
Something's missing in their lives
There are boys are dying everyday
Being killed is a senseless price to pay
(Chorus)
Tell him the truth
The weaknesses and the strengths
Tell him its okay to cry
Teach him love is the best defense
And show him there's a way
To have peace within today
Especially teach him to pray
And listen to the Spirit inside
(Chorus)
