Story Behind The Song
This is a pre-production of a song written for the indie film This Time Each Year. It will be used in the film's trailer.
Song Description
Written for a film about two brothers who were once close but have grown apart. There is hope for a breakthrough in their relationship. This proved to be a tricky project--it was tough writing something that worked for family, particularly brothers, who get together once every year to visit their father's grave. It is used in a scene where they're driving to the cemetery.

Lyrics
The murky waters call to me once more
I dive in head first, belly skims the floor
Crave the solace and the pressure in my chest
The ache is my companion and it's what I know best
Send my message through the void and I stand-by
Wait around a minute more, there's no reply
I head up to the surface cause I need to get some air
Once again I'm half-relieved that there is no one there
And this emptiness is killing me
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy
I pray you haven't drifted very far
I'll send signals to you over there
And hope they echo back to here
This current's pulling us from Who We Are
I'm sending Sonar
Sending sonar
Some will hold resentments till the end
Keep it in our hearts just like a friend
But veins will soon be hardened over time
We fail to understand that blood is thicker than pride
And this emptiness is killing me
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy
I pray you haven't drifted very far
I'll send signals to you over there
And hope they echo back to here
This current's pulling us from Who We Are
I'm sending Sonar
Sending sonar
Cause this emptiness is killing me
It's a self-fulfilling prophecy
I pray you haven't drifted very far
Cause the signals I've sent over there
Will someday echo back to here
A silent symphony of Who We Are
I'm sending Sonar
