Story Behind The Song
These three stories were in a newspaper one day. It's a good thing I had a guitar nearby.
Song Description
We're often look at situations where hard decisions need to be made. It's easy to stand outside looking in and pass judgement on others, but when we face those crossroads ourselves, we so often find it's harder than we thought. Life decisions are easy from a distance.

Lyrics
Playin' God
With his tongue & tail a waggin' he raced out on the road
Ran in hot pursuit to catch that ball but the pickup never slowed
Sara cried out to her daddy while her puppy lay in pain
But slim & none are choices that no father can explain
CHORUS
The water looks so peaceful til we reach that swollen creek
The mountain's sure to tempt us til we try to climb her peak
When we face that naked moment we may find our reason flawed
Maybe to remind us we're not good at playin' God
As a young boy with a temper teachers called a troubled child
Now a man of violent nature they proved this at his trial
When the judge raised up his gavel feeling fate cupped in his hands
Both men hung their heads aprayin' God would understand
CHORUS
BRIDGE
She stood before the clinic tryin' to look discreet
While hearin' barbs of anger from both sides of the street
CHORUS
