Story Behind The Song
I began writing this song about a friend, Roger, who had recently passed away. He was a teacher and a very good one who lived his life the way this chorus plays out. He loved to teach, no matter the subject, and he loved to dance, no matter the drummer.

Lyrics
The Mission is Love
Roger was known as a tall gentle soul
Raised up three children with a glass half full
Always the teacher it ran in his blood
His lessons were many cause his mission was love
CHORUS
Strike up the music dance in the street
March to the rhythm or drum your own beat
Join in the laughter there's never enough
Life goes on giving when the mission is love
Life goes on living when the mission is love
Twenty years married before Beth conceived
She carried a daughter who had special needs
Options were many tho' Beth wouldn't budge
Her child was a blessing & her mission was love
CHORUS
BRIDGE
Cried out from his cross up to heaven above
Oh Father forgive them for the mission is love
CHORUS - Yea life goes on living if the mission is love... (collage)
