Lyrics
A SONG ABOUT SNOW
"I hate snow!"
A White Christmas to some is a very nice dream,
but to me that same dream's the worst nightmare I've seen.
A big snowfall is not cause to jump up and shout,
and it's certainly not worth my singing about.
"Snow really blows!"
It blows icy and cold, down inside of my clothes,
and it piles up so deep that it freezes my toes -
besides, what kind of fool hurts his back and strains more,
just to shovel a path all the way to his door?
"And I ask you?"
Just how beautiful can snowy white scenery be
when the glare from the snow is so bad, you can't see?
And the neighborhood kids love a good snowball fight,
but it's no fun when I/ have to duck out of sight!
"And as for winter sports...!"
Oh, yes - sledding is fun - down a hill, it's a thrill -
but give me the type thrill where I won't catch a chill!
As for snowmen - they're dumb; they have no charm at all. Why, with one little nudge, they just topple and fall!
"And let's not forget what snow does to traffic!"
And then wouldn't you know, when you've someplace to go, you can count on the roads being blocked by deep snow! Buses, planes, cars and trains all get stuck or are late, so it's not a surprise snow is something I hate!
Refrain:
No, you will never hear me sing a song about snow!
It is wet, white, and cold, and it really gets old!
"I REALLY hate snow! You will never, EVER hear me sing - uh - that song I just sang - you never heard it!"
