Story Behind The Song

A collaboration between Birthe Myers (another Broadjam Artist) and myself. Started as a simple lullaby and turned into a beautiful song for children. For me however, Ms. Myer's lyrics about our wonderful sun are a metaphore for enduring love. I hope that comes across in the music.

Gentle dark takes over from the light,
as the day turns slowly into night.
Tired children start to long for bed,
time to rest your sleepy little head.

on the other side of earth from here
children wake up and begin to play
in the sunshine of a whole new day.

The sun never sleeps, she never takes a rest
she keeps us all warm, and she does it all for love
she works day, she works night, and when she has gone down
she keeps burning bright, as we spin around, around and around her ever lasting light.

Every morning when the rising sun
lights the eastern sky and night is done,
rosy dawn or dark and gray and drear,
up above the clouds the sun's still there
