Story Behind The Song
Kevin is someone I once knew. I always wonder what happened to him. He was always on the run. I wrote the song in a way to come to grips with the idea that as promising as he was, he was a young man who would probably end up dead one day from any number of reasons and for no real purpose.
Song Description
This is a song I wrote in an attempt to reach a young man I taught. It was the only way I could respond to the pain I felt for the incredibly crummy hand life had dealt him.

Lyrics
Verse One
I look in my room.
I see that you're gone.
Where have you been so far and so long?
Was it something I said?
Was it something I did?
Please answer me. Don't stay hid.
Chorus
Was that a gun I saw in your hand?
Throw it away and be a peace man.
Violence and blood.
Hurt and pain.
What you are comes back again
What you are comes back again.
Verse Two
This ain't the first time, you've been running around.
If you don't take care, they'll put you down.
I want you to know that all that I do.
Body, soul and spirit, I do it for you.
Chorus
Was that some drugs I saw in your hands?
Throw them away and be a free man.
High and low.
Hurt and pain.
What you are comes back again.
What you are comes back again.
Verse Three
The future is yours.
Please don't waste it.
You've got to try.
You can't fake it.
Im here for you
My life is yours.
Remember I care, more and more.
Chorus
Was that a tear I saw in your eyes?
Together we'll make it bye and bye.
Love and ope, care and concern.
What you give will always return.
What you give will always return.
