Story Behind The Song
I wrote this about a girl I knew in college-of course her name was "TRACY". She was going through some hard times and I decided to cheer her up with this tune. We became very good friends.
Song Description
This song was recorded in 1982-before computers, software, auto-tune and all the other modern tools we have today. I'm still very proud of this track. I still have the 16-track master reel. I would love to go back someday and re-record the lead vocal. I was just a kid when I sang this tune!

(Verse 1)
I understand your fear of-things that you just can't control,
But you can't let it get the best side of you-You just might lose your soul.
(B-Verse 1)
You're so hard to get to know-You won't let your secrets go,
Try not to be sold cold-Or you might end up being alone.
(Chorus)
Oh-oh TRACY, TRACY-I think you're scared of yourself
I see a lot of good things inside you-that you've placed on a shelf-Woh
(Verse 2)
You're an independent lady-You don't know what you want,
You're not very good at lyin'-You won't put up a front.
(B-Verse 2))
Now sit down and think awhile-what would happen if you smile?
To me you're very real-But you gotta do whatcha feel!
(Chorus)
Oh-oh TRACY, TRACY-I think you're scared of yourself
I see a lot of good things inside you-that you've placed on a shelf-Woh
(Guitar Solo)
(Verse 3)
Summer's just 'round the corner-you're lookin' at it with a frown,
While everyone else is having fun-You feel like you're losing ground.
(B-Verse 3)
You don't need to apologize-But I think you should realize,
I don't want you for a prize-I can see the pain in your eyes.
(Chorus-Repeat & fade)
Oh-oh TRACY, TRACY-I think you're scared of yourself
I see a lot of good things inside you-that you've placed on a shelf-Woh
