Story Behind The Song
One evening after my then son-in-law, Gordon Vaughn, and his band, Cool for August, completed an early gig in Atlanta's Little Five-Point area of town, we decided to visit a local water hole to quench our thirst, eat, and socialize a bit. We wound up on Fourteenth street in a restaurant named "Front Page News," or "Crescent City Cafe." The song reveals what happened to me and a friend.

Lyrics
She Touched My Butt!
Down in the land where folks say y'all, I was'sa suckin' on a Bud; justa' standin' up tall.
Friends were drinkin', and havin' a ball when this momma' eased by with a guy named Paul.
And then,
Chorus
She touched my butt!
Must've known that my life was in a rut
'cause... she touched my butt.
Yes, sir, buddy, now... she touched my butt.
Had finished a gig and paid up on my dues. Was rejoicing that night in "The Front Page News."
Was feelin' no pain; the boy's alright. I'm a' tellin' ya' now, it's a' helluva night.
Especially when,
Repeat Chorus
Some don't know what this song is about. While others sneer, stick out lips, and pout.
But we macho men, with necks a little red, poke our fist in the air, and repeat what he said.
Especially when (Repeat Chorus)
Yeah, (Repeat Chorus)
Yes sir, buddy, now... when she touched my butt.
