Story Behind The Song
This song uses a tempo and beat structure that has been repeated down through the years in 1950's and sixties dance beats that I wanted to put lyrics to.

SOUTH OF MOLINE
By
Gerald D. Ulmer
key of-C
I stopped in a little bar ~
Just South of 'Moline'.
I'd been driving all day ~
I just needed a break.
I told the waitress ~
Just give me anything that's cold.
I just need to wet my whistle ~
then I'll need to go!
* MUSIC INTERLUDE *
My beer was half way down ~
When I turned to look a round.
That's when I took note! ~
The whole place was choked!
So many people ~~
I wondered what was going on? ~
Then upon the stage ~
Came a hillbilly band to play!
The drummer started thumping `
The people started jumping!
Everybody hit the dance floor. ~
There weren't no room for any more.
That guitar started talking, ~
That Hillbilly band was really rocking.
I gulped down my brew ~
Then I hit the dance floor too!
* MUSIC INTERLUDE *
CHORUS ****
It was just a little bar, ~
Just South of 'MOLINE'!
And I almost passed it by, ~
But my mouth was so dry.
I wasn't going to stay, ~
But then that band began to play,
That hillbilly rock and roll ~
Then I couldn't go!
* began fade out music*
Just a little bar ~
Out South of Moline'.
Just a little ways ~
South on Moline!
Just South of Moline'
South of Moline!
