Story Behind The Song
This one is quite an old one and recorded in 2003, when first got into home recording.
Really about most men that think they need to be independent and drive careers etc. However lost without a simple love of a companion or woman. Much is said about women and their careers and what they must sacrifice, however no one sees sacrifices having to be made by a man in a full-on career.
Song Description
Written 10 years ago, but topic still relevant to men today, where the concentration to succeeed comes at a cost.
Fairly simple element of drums, acoustic bass and acoustic guitar. Organ comes in and out of the song to give haunting feel. Various background vocals are used for the chorus showing range of high and low octaves.

Lyrics
Independent Man - Music and Lyrics by Graeme Andrew
What if you could read my mind.
Would you see me in a different light
How you make me feel so Great, but doubt is there and that's a threat
Oh you know who I am - I'm a man who has lost his plans.
Oh you know who I am - I'm a man - very tired man
Walking alone, Independence I adored.
Walking alone ain't fun no more
Oh you know who I am - I'm a man who has lost his plans.
Oh you know who I am - I'm a man - very tired man
Walking alone, Independence I adored.
Walking alone ain't fun no more
Walking with you I don't feel so blue
Walking with you I don't feel so blue
