Story Behind The Song
No story really, my parents were hippies, I grew up around hippies, read about hippies etc... This song is basically just a summery of memories and writings.
Song Description
It has to do with the economy, the war, and the way that people of power looked down their noses at the younger 60's and 70's generations.
Generally it would be just another kid saying blah blah blah, but they actually wanted to unify and change the world for the better.

Lyrics
People don't like the clothes I wear.
and people try and make me cut my hair,
but they just wish that they could also be free,
and they still stay chained to society.
It makes them right if it makes me wrong,
yet many of them will sing the very same song,
pretending to rid their garden of the weeds, but they're just like a book and i can read.
I don't wanna be like everyone else,
be another read book on an old book shelf,
drive a fancy car cause I think I got class
wastin lot's of money on precious gas.
People buyin food and throwin it out because it's not to the liking of their mouths,
if they had no cash for food to be bought, they'd take another look at what they've got and see... people like you and me.
They have no thoughts of what they're doin,
They just keep on takin,
give not to the poor,
ah, what the hell for.
