Lyrics

MAYBE NEXT TIME

Well, I heard you were moving away

I heard you'd be traveling on

I guess there's no more reason for you to stay

Now that everything that held you is gone

And when I think about you it breaks my heart

Guess there's no going back to the start

Our road's at the end, but I'll miss you my friend
Will love ever try to be kind?

Maybe next time

I'm not sure quite how love got away

I don't think anyone was to blame

A few careless steps and we lost our way

And somehow things were never the same

I wish I could go back and make it right

Cause I'm missing you like crazy tonite

Baby I can't undo what's between me and you

But I hope that what you need you will find

Maybe next time

Maybe next time we'll see what's beyond the bend

See that fork in the road before we come to the end

Maybe next time we'll see when the hurt's begun

And stop before the damage is done

Well, I guess I'll leave the past in the past

Really nothing else I can do

But I swear to you whatever may come to pass

I'll never find another like you

And when I think about how good my life could be

It'll always be your face that I see

That's when I knew love, what dreams are made of

When I look back from the end of the line

I'll know this was my time

Firstly, it's a beautiful song. It has a lovely chord progression. I like the lyrics very much. The mixture of acoustic guitar with touches of electric piano is sublime. Good lead vocal and effective use of backing vocals. The song has a nice chord progression. I like the guitar solo a lot. Very well recorded. The song has shades of David Gates/Bread and The Eagles.

Really nice and emotional piece with a good arrangement and pleasing vocals. Has a feel to it like some of the slower classic love songs of the 70's and 80's.

I enjoyed the song. It has an original and real quality to it like music of the seventies often has. Good job on vocals. A bit bassy perhaps in my opinion on the vocal EQ.
