Story Behind The Song

Composer, musician Gary Wayne Hudgins added the Train to the title of the classic Christmas carol Silent Night because his harmonica and guitar performances evoke a train rolling down the tracks. The rest of the instruments he played on the instrumental recording put Silent Night Train squarely in the Americana genre (banjo, bass, snare drum, cymbals). He also recorded, mixed, and mastered the song in his home studio in Portsmouth, Virginia, at the time. Gary Wayne Hudgins owns the copyright to the sound recording, Silent Night Train.
