Story Behind The Song
This song is a cross-continental collaboration between Wisconsin-based songwriter Hannah Busse and Netherlands-based lyricist Donna Devine, who have never met one another in person - but were introduced through an online songwriting forum. Donna wrote the lyrics after reading a poem by Norbert Mayer; she then invited Hannah to set her lyrics to music, and Hannah composed this ethereal, fanciful track.

Lyrics
I want to learn what mountains dream
What every woodland's heard and seen
...The wisdom in the wonders
All around me
I want to learn how water sings
Where spirits dwell in lakes and springs
...I hope a tribe of naiads
Will surround me
And if it should seem
That I'm still as a stone
While a world in confusion
Hangs by a thread
...I'm caught in the tapestry Nature has sewn
I know rocks in my garden
Have lives of their own
And like them
I am just playing dead
I long to learn the wildness ways
The alchemy of nights and days
...To trust illumination
Once it's found me
Now caught in the tapestry Nature has sewn
I know rocks in my garden
Have lives of their own
And like them
I am just playing dead
