Story Behind The Song
This is a song about waking up in the morning with a headache as there had been an after party the night before and swearing off of all of the things that "I Used To" do. You get the idea.
Song Description
The longer description is that upon waking up in a bath tub wrapped in a shower curtain as the after party had lasted very, very late, the singer stumbled out to the front porch of the host's house, tripping over other party-goers, empty beer bottles, and the like. The singer no longer sits down on the porch and sits defenseless with no sunglasses as the first rays of the sun break over the horizon cutting into the his head like a laser beam, making the hangover worse. He wrote this song about all of those things he Used To do and swore off of if he could just get through this hangover.... at least until 4:30 that day!!

Lyrics
I Used to
Verse 1
I used to play my guitar, in a swinging band.
I used to feel my ladies, with my swinging hand.
Used to be you'd find me, right in all the fun.
But now I'm resting on this porch, resting in the sun.
Verse 2
I used to go to parties, trying to be good.
I used to drink that liquor, more than I should.
Used to be you'd find me, right in all the fun.
But now I'm resting on this porch, resting in the sun.
Chorus 1
And I'm staying high inside my mind.
Hoping that I'd see some better times.
Of all the things I've said and done.
Hope your here when the morning comes.
Verse 3
I used to look for women, that I'd never find.
I used to look everywhere for that piece of mind.
Used to be you'd find me, right in all the fun.
But I believe that you'll be here, when the morning comes.
Chorus 2
A life to groove and I'm learning.
To take things slower everyday.
There's no use rushing all your life away.
Hope your here when the morning comes.
