Story Behind The Song
The song was inspired by my grandmother Nancy Inks. She is the woman who greatly shaped and influenced me to be the person I am today. Most of the song consists of memories and lessons that she taught me. This song was written and recorded on a rainy night at Hewn House Studios in Madison, Wisconsin.
Song Description
A folk like atmosphere along side fast treble lead guitar and non-traditional percussion. Swaying vocal hooks and clever lyrics that feed off of wind like harmonies and noises create a forest like environment for the listener.

Lyrics
My grandmother told me Bean
If you're climbing those trees all the time
You'll end up hooting like an owl
Singing from the top of the pines
Hands are sticky sappy
Grass fed green stain
Call me happy
There's no way I'm comin down anytime soon
Swayin to & fro
There's no way to go but up from the ground
We're all just layin around with our backs facing each other
Pine cone bomb drop you some
If you come into my territory girl
Up here I'm the law I am a man
I'm god so don't you come near
I got my knife and I'm a widdlin away at the world
I'm a topsy turvey singing swirlin
Wind-chiming bird
Swayin to & fro
There's no way to go but up from the ground
We're all just layin around with our backs facing each other
My grandmother told me Bean
If I ever catch-ya getting high
I'll take that old pine tree root
And beat your little behind
Nancy god rest your soul
What you don't know don't hurt you
I'm up on top of the highest branch
Hootin like an owl
Swayin to & fro
There's no way to go but up from the ground
We're all just layin around with our backs facing each other
Swaying in the wind
