Story Behind The Song
I wrote "Black and Blue" in Ireland after a very busy day. It's a song about being lost, forgetting what life is for, feeling meaningless...
It is a song full of dark thoughts, but it's also a call for help.
For me it represents the internal fight of someone who lost the will to live, someone just scared of himself, of the ideas in his head and full of doubts. Someone who really just wants someone to save him, to bring him home.
It was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend who was struggling at the time, but it really isn't about one person. It's a song about everyone who walks down the rails looking for a light. I hope everyone gets home safe.
Song Description
It is a song full of dark thoughts and a call for help. Intro has an intimate feeling with acoustic guitar and female vocals. Some electric piano lines leads to the Bridge and into the chorus with a full smooth arrangement of drums and percussion, bass, harmony vocals and Keys. Reaching the climax after the bridge it gets back to the arrangement of the intro with acoustic guitars and vocals. Black and Blue represents the internal fight of someone who lost the will to live, someone just scared of himself, of the ideas in his head and full of doubts. Someone who really just wants someone to save him, to bring him home. It's a song about everyone who walks down the rails looking for a light.

Lyrics
Walking down the rails, trying to reach the light
looking down the cliffs, shining blue in my mind
should I walk through into the light
should I mix black and blue tonight
So dark, I find it so confusing
to fall back, into dark thoughts
and black, changes my thinking
leaves a gap, in my song
Black and blue takes my thoughts back to you
and I don't know what to do, fall into blue
blue and black, walking on the wrong track
trying to find a way back walk into black
Trying to sail out, but there's no wind any more
what is the day about, if I sleep on the floor
should I follow, the two metal lines
should I mix black and blue tonight
So dark, I find it so confusing
to fall back, into dark thoughts
and black, changes my thinking
leaves a gap, in my song
Black and blue takes my thoughts back to you
and I don't know what to do, fall into blue
blue and black, walking on the wrong track
trying to find a way back walk into black
So take me back
before I fall into the black
so walk me home
before the night gets me alone
