Story Behind The Song
I'm influenced by John Fogerty and his Americana songs, and I wanted to write a train song like he uses as a metaphor in many of his songs.
Song Description
A song about trains and the romance of the rails, when things were simpler. A story song, where one group still lives in the past, and other characters hope the trains take them away from their past.

Lyrics
Beware Of The Trains
Words and music by Inigo Figuracion (Taxi member # C-2100-5582)
(verse 1)
Things are different these days
Old Ed Rainey would say
?What?s the rush and the hurry?
?It?s just another day, so why worry??
Chester nodded his head
Agreed with what Old Ed said
He took another swig of Old Number 7
And dreamed of riding off into heaven
(chorus)
In the days before planes
Steel rails ruled
Beware of the trains
(verse 2)
Nikki lived for the sound
At night when there?s no one around
A far off whistle, two blows
Would take her to places she only knows
Jody hopped on the line
Santa Fe was runnin on time
She found another life, a new state
But Nikki?s escape will have to wait
(chorus)
In the days before planes
Steel rails ruled
Beware of the trains
(bridge)
In the town there?s no one
Rusted through and through
Tumble weeds ride the rails
That proud engines once knew
(verse 3)
Things are different these days
Old Ed Rainey would say
?What?s the rush and the hurry?
?It?s just another day, so why worry??
(chorus)
In the days before planes
Steel rails ruled
Beware of the trains
