Story Behind The Song
The first line of the chorus is from the film,"From Here to Eternity" and that started it all. I came up with the chorus and Kevin and I wrote the verses together.

Lyrics
No one ever lied about bein' lonely
but you try to hide all the feelings
But if you hide
you'll never let someone care
It's not a crime bein' lonely
From time to time
that's just how you're feelin'
Just don't think that there's
no one there
I reach this truckstop 'bout five o'clock
you're always busy, no time to talk
I keep hopin', keep comin' by
every day
one of these days I'm gonna make you smile
take you outta here for a little while
when I do these are the words
I'll say
(chorus)
Better angels try to lift you up
but an empty bed drags you down
You hug your pillow
so far away from home
You took your chances on a different life
nobody's fool, nobody's wife
no more waitin' by the phone
(chorus)
Another evening, the place is slow
You brought my coffee
We said hello, kept on talkin'
Until it was time to close
I asked you if you had somewhere to be
You shook your head and smiled at me
We left that place
bound for no one knows
(chorus)
