Story Behind The Song

Whilst looking for a place to fish on the West Wales coast and with the help and thanks to a new fisherman friend I met through the internet, I discovered a place hidden away from view and only accesible to very few who have asked me to keep it a secret! This special spot has fabulous coastal views and is enriched with wildlife as nature had intended it to be. The feelings I gained whilst spending quality time there thus inspired this song and it has become very personal to me. The wording does have some fishing innuendoes hidden in the lyrics like "Soul" being a fish "Sole" "Cast away" "tides" which is what I wanted to include as it is in essence about a rock where I go fishing and to enjoy the surroundings of nature's unspoilt beauty. Song Description

The song itself is a result of a 50/50 collaboration between James Granville & Charles Jenkins. "Inside My Soul" is what I would describe as a very meaningful piece of music which tells the story of my affection for a speacial place I now hold close to my heart. It has an intro, verse, bridge, chorus sections which are subsequently repeated, a middle eight and legato style lead break. Another Chorus follows before the outro finishes the song. It has no drums and the instruments are all natural acoustic sounding ones to match the natural theme of the song itself ie Guitars , piano and even a mandolin. The vocals do change mood throughout the song and are enhanced by harmony parts at key stages to add depth interest and contrast. Initially I could imagine it suiting a Ronan Keating type vocal but I hope people will like the way it's turned out on this demo.
