Story Behind The Song
This song was inspired by the idea that if you want something bad enough you have to go get it, and tells the story of a man who has been flirting with a woman for a long time and finally decides to tell her.
Song Description
There are always going to be reasons *not* to do something. But if you want something bad enough - be it music or love or whatever it is - you have to make the effort to go and get it. 'The Light' takes that idea and makes it a love story, but it applies to other things in life as well.

Lyrics
The Light
You and me we always had that somethin'
Summer nights we were burnin' it down
Your daddy said I'd never 'mount to nothin'
Mama never told me when you'd come around
Pre-chorus:
If you want it bad you will find a way
If you want it bad, yeah
Chorus:
Won't you say you might run with me tonight?
I can't wait any longer
My love it grows in the light
I've been impatiently waiting
You've been painstakingly shy
How you gonna just show up to my party
and then love me out the corner of your eye?
(Pre-chorus)
(Chorus)
Bridge:
I'm tired of chasing you uphill
You're scared that we won't work - I'm scared that we will
Let go of all the worries that you're hanging onto still
