Lyrics
The Other Side
©Jeffrey C. Ashbaker 1-18-2017
Life's a trip and my journey's destination
Is waiting down a puzzled road
With this guitar strapped across my shoulder
Gonna be there as the story's told
Gonna sing it as the tale unfolds
And as I walked, I came upon two bridges
Each offering a way to go
Two signs hung, like arrows in a crossbow
One read high, one low
Eeny, meeny,minny,mo
--- Chorus ---
At first it seemed so easy when I changed direction
I took a step and closed a tired eye
In the end, I'll be looking for redemption
Wonder what I'll find, on the other side
-----------------
I heard a voice say take the low one if you're looking
For an easy ride
But as a warning, just remember when you're leaving
To time it with the rising tide
The soul's a little hard to dry
But then again, take the high one, if you're thinking
That you might return
It helps to keep, the water flowing under
The bridges that you might have burned
The intension is to live and learn
-Repeat Chorus-
-Bridge-
And I won't know
If I stumbled high or tumbled low
Until I reach, the other side
--------------
-Repeat Chorus-
