jellybean and matto decided to write 'on assignment', with the goal of writing specifically for Scotty McCreery (though he didn't know we were writing for him!). Songwriting with their friend Nicole Koester, they had fun writing this song to capture the feeling of the exciting emotions of falling for someone. "When My Boots Touch Ground" is a fun, Country approach to young love.
Song Description
A quiet, shy country guy works up the nerve to talk to an attractive girl, but has to wait a second to let his 'heart calm down' and his 'boots touch ground.' He may have been a little hesitant at first, but it pays off with beautiful first date memories and future talks under the Carolina moon. As he gets to know her, he realizes she's the perfect country girl to bring home to mama.
