Story Behind The Song
Before all this modern medicine, if a man was wounded on the battlefield, there was no way to numb him for surgery - surgery that could save his life. So he had to be held down while the doctor stitched up/cauterized/closed the wound. Sometimes in life we sort of need God to do the same thing. I wanted to explore that theme.
Song Description
Desperately trying to change. Sometimes we just need someone to hold us down and remove the imperfections - whatever the cost.

Lyrics
I saw love fall like an anchor in the middle of war and peace
And I heard me cuss like a sailor and fall down on my knees
Hold me down
Cause i need you to
Hold me down
And do what you have to do
I found you not in the earthquake, the fire or the wind
You slipped in, past my defenses, with a whisper small and thin
Hold me down Cause i need you to
Hold me down
And do what you have to do
Garrison's guard their positions with n'er a thought of flight
Now give me strength to stand my position even if I die
Hold me down Cause i need you to
Hold me down Cause i want you to
Hold me down Cause i need you to
Hold me down
And do what you have to do
