This song was originally written for voice and acoustic guitar and was posted on this site in 2006. This re-written version was due to receiving a lyric critique at the Belfast Nashville Songwriters' Festival songwriting seminar by ASCAP's Ralph Murphy (

Song Description

An abstract metaphor is used to convey a determination to win the love of someone as yet unobtainable. The metaphor uses the scene of an old war movie with a pilot homing in on his target on a moonlit night. This reminds the singer that in the real world

Pilot flies through a night clear and so bright
