Story Behind The Song
I wrote this at the end of March, 2 weeks into Covid-19 Stay at home order. I had noticed that the environment was improving - the air was cleaner, less noise pollution, nature in effect was thriving and, people in general seemed more friendly. At this time, the two parties in Washington were holding any financial relief hostage which I mention in verse 2. In closing, this is a song of hope that we learn ultimately to reduce our carbon footprint and save the planet with love.

BOOKMARK 32020
V1.In the time of the great unknown
reaping the seeds we had sown
from a virus that was airborn
and spreading
Our business's got shutdown
as did most of our towns
we were told to stay at home
it was lockdown
C:
And while the situation looked dire
the people did aquire
a renewed passion for helping others
And the earth started to heal
during this new deal
pollution lessened in the air
and the oceans
V2.We turned to our goverment
whose money was well spent
on bailout of Wall Street
and the rich
The people were in desperate need
of some help from those who love greed
while they sat in thier golden towers
and argued
C:
And while the situation looked dire
the people did aquire
a renewed passion for helping others
And the earth started to heal
during this new deal
pollution reduced in the air
and the oceans
Bridge: Seems like a crisis like this
may be a lesson on how we exist
by reducing our carbon footprint
and excess
Seems like a crisis like this
may be a lesson on how we exist
by reminding ourselves love is existence
