HUMAN INSTINCTS
NARRATIVE:
I've been around people so long that I've developed human instincts and feelings.
Like in the fall when only a few leaves cling to their branches and heavy clouds signal the coming of winter...I know that feeling. But I can't put a name to it.
Though I have a heart there are limits to what I should be able to feel according to the grand order of things. But somehow the empty zone between me and thee disappeared and allowed me to cross over into a more vivid world where feelings are far more intense. At first I was under the impression that I was invited only to observe. How presumptuous of me to think I could avoid feelings.
Sorrow, anticipation, anger, jealousy, determination, surprise, joy, hate, frustration, loneliness, hopelessness, embarrassment, terror, eagerness, disappointment, wonder, disbelief, rage, sadness, relief. I know how all these feelings feel but I'm not sure how I feel about feeling these feelings.
If ignorance is bliss I fear: see what I mean ? I fear my limited knowledge before crossing over was a better way to be, for me. Now, I'm uncertain of my future, I'm longing for my past and missing where I used to be.
Hopefully this emptiness inside me will soon be behind me.
