Story Behind The Song
I had been working really hard on the "Grief, Loss and Hope for Tomorrow" album. Hadn?t been able to get studio time for several weeks, so I had just focused my entire energy on the next session. The couple days before were killers at work, not enough sleep, and stressed out in general. I got there and immediately locked my keys in the car. No problem, for $85 a locksmith would be there in ½ hr. At that point, only my pride and wallet were hurt. When he finally showed up TWO hours later, I was reduced to a hypothermic idiot who ended up recording nothing. Next morning it was just a matter of writing down what went on

Lyrics
Just lying on my back when my eyes filled up
Then they just overflowed
A river of tears down the side of my face
Onto the pillow below
It?s said that a good cry is good for the soul
Chains that are dropped at your feet
And eyes reopened can see once again
A vision of life so sweet
CHORUS
And the time for crying it may be now
But time will always pass through
That valley of shadows to the mountain above
Where treetops of smiles are the view
Repeat 1st verse
What caused the upheaval may still be there
After the good cry is gone
But some of the problems are washed away
So tell them goodbye and go on
repeat CHORUS
Repeat verses 2 and 3
repeat CHORUS
