Story Behind The Song
This is one of the first things I recorded with my new (and 1st) setup/program. I had the acoustic riffs for a long time, over 10 years, before I finaly had a chance to record it. All the string parts were added by simply messing around. It's also the first time I've ever written a guitar solo and played it. The song was complete with the exception of a vocal melody and lyrics. My buddy Pat pretty much wrote the words on the spot and came up with the melody too. Took me a couple of days to do the music, and took him a couple of hours to do the vocals. I also did an alternate take of this song, instrumental. It has more string elements and the arrangment is a little different.

Lyrics
Daybreak for the broken,
another fix on the mend.
The wave created by the broken hearts,
Slowly crashing in.
You're everything to me.
Drowning in a day dream
and caught somewhere between.
I see it in your eyes,
But don't know what it means.
You're everything to me.
I wish that I were less a man,
so I could tell you how I feel.
The fleeting years will pass her by,
what makes this so real?
You're everything to me.
It's hard to say I love you
when the cat has got your tongue.
Words sucumb to the vacume
and the silence weighs a ton.
You're everything to me.
