Story Behind The Song
It's a bit of an abstract song. It was written while I was reading a lot of Cormac McCarthy and other Western Americana tales. Also the song began as an ode to a friend (the wolf).

Lyrics
You've been goin at them badlands
They made you hard and strong
Still everything about em just feels so wrong
And you got bullets deep down in your chest
You got some wings beside your footsteps
And some wolf in your blood
Just yet.
Your eyes they hide the sunlight
Your story's gone untold
The stones they cast upon you
Well you turned em into gold
And you got summers dust on your breath
You got some rain upon your shoulders
And some wolf in your blood
Just yet.
So many man has told you
When and where that you should sit
You took em out or you took em in
Well whatever you saw fit
And your heart
Was forged in forests of fire red
Some desert lilly on your scrag
This solitary life's a drag
Just cant seem to shake the dust
Though like hell you always run
I bet.
Your wiry as a crow dog
You stalk the sacred gait
Ill get you to them mountains
Or ill die along the way
But well, I'm not sure if the earth will take me back,
Cuz dog your claws worn down to nothing
And some wolf in your blood
Your coat it needs some brushin
And your face needs some sun
Some peace inside that heartache
And some wolf in your blood
Just yet.
