Story Behind The Song
I know it's probably not a very nice attitude, but why is it that some people insist that everyone has to be jolly and smiling all the time? Most of the time I can cope with it, but every now and then I just feel like jumping up and shouting "It is obvious to all but the intellectually challenged that this situation is utter pants and by no stretch of the imagination can it be improved." I know a couple of people who, in the face of the advent of World War 3 would mercilessly whine, "Oh I'm sure it'll be fine in the end." Sometimes I just want to be a miserable git because the situation warrants it. Let me sulk in peace!
Song Description
This song is a response to people who insist on saying "It'll be fine" to the point where it ceases to be a kind gesture and verges on at best stupidity, at worst, bare faced lies.

Lyrics
SUN BLIND
I don?t want a blue sky, when I wake up
I don?t want a sweet bird singing songs
?cos this ain?t where that bird belongs
I don?t want you to cry, when I break up
Why can?t you see, it?s meant to be
I?ll always be the death of me.
And now I?m finding, my mind re-winding
And what is right and what is true
Is shining bright out of the blue yeah.
I saw the Sun shine, one fine morning
You wouldn?t think it meant all that
But it?s the thing that took me back
And I crossed a fine line, I heard a warning
It said, ?you saw the Sun before,
Before you wound up on the floor
Now I?m re-living, I won?t be forgiving
?Cos every time I look I find
It was the Sun that made me so blind
Take a little precaution, with a little respect
Add a little misfortune, and a little regret
Take a foolish dream in a bright, sunny scene
Add a drop of rain and watch it
All fall down again
And then remind me, before you blind me
Of what has been, yeah shout it loud
And let me be me in my big cloud
CHORUS
Let me see my freedom
Love me as I am
You dream your dreams but I don?t need them
I?ll find my sunshine where I can
But not in dreams, I don?t believe in.
I will not take those chances
Based on your blinded glances
I?ve got a better view
It may be shady but it?s true
I?m gonna be alright yeah
In my eternal night where
It ain?t black and it ain?t white
But this is where I see the light
Of facing, the life I?m making
Of how it hurts and how it feels
It may get dirty
But it?s so real
CHORUS
Why don't you let me see my freedom
Why don't you love me as I am
You dream your dreams but I don?t need them
I?ll find my sunshine where I can
But not in dreams, I don?t believe in.
