Story Behind The Song
I am continuously frustrated with the lack of integrity in the political world these days. I despise the polarization of both liberal and conservative parties. I wrote this song as a way to vent my frustration since I often get tongue-tied when trying to express my opinions verbally.
Song Description
An eclectic, upbeat, and tongue-in-cheek take on the world's political environment. Piano, xylophone, mandolin, trumpet, and melodica add a whimsical "vaudevillian" flavor to this slightly biting song.

Lyrics
Caught an hour of the
nightly news
It's hard to separate
the lies from trues
Hit the pillow with no strength
to choose...anyway
The obligation's there to
take a stance
and risk the burn of a
disgusted glance
I don't pretend to think
I have the answers anyway
Sweepin' up after fallen idols
Half the world is feeling suicidal
Take it all--every deed and title
Far away
This is not what was intended
by the one whose arms extended
on the limbs of a lonely tree
The animosity I've seen of late
seems to be the cause of
much debate
my thoughts are racing
but I think I'll wait...anyway
We're getting wounded
with a war of words
There's nothing you've said that
I haven't heard
Nasty habits that we must
unlearn...well, anyway
Chorus
Dreaming of happy endings
Come take me home
It's only time I'm spending
Come take me home
Chorus
