Lyrics

I know I'm gonna do something stupid
To mess up this good thing now that I've found it
Try to be an angel but the sinner inside wins sometimes
Is it in my nature?
Am I even able to do what's right?

'Cause here I am down on my knees again saying I'm sorry for the 17,000 time
I'm crying my eyes out begging you please, for the 17,000th time,
whatever you do, don't let me go
whatever you do, don't let me go

You've got the patience of a deep deep well
I've been tempted by things that I never ever would tell
Don't know why you bother, I will only break your heart again
Is it in my nature?
Am I even able to get it right?

'Cause here I am down on my knees again saying I'm sorry for the 17,000 time
I'm crying my eyes out begging you please, for the 17,000th time,
whatever you do, don't let me go
whatever you do, don't let me go

...and all the while you were counting on me counting on me
...and all the while you believe in me, forgiven me
I know
Don't let me go

I'm down on my knees again
Saying, I'm sorry
I'm crying my eyes out begging you please for the 17000th time
Oh, don't let me go.

[chorus out]

Every now and again you come across a song that can be described in the word "honest." This is one of those. The opening line (humbly) says it all "I know I'm gonna do something stupid." That's about as honest as it gets. It aptly expresses the thoughts of many people as they approach relationships. "I know I'm gonna mess this up" (like the last time.) I think it's a great pop rock girl band song because it's something young girls can relate to. Not only are the lyrics great, but the performance and instrumentation are also nicely done. Here's another great line: "Try to be an angel but the sinner inside wins sometimes." The only people who use the word sinner in a song are mostly Christian/gospel writers, but you hit the nail on the head with this line, which reminds me of the words of Paul in Romans 7:19-25. Excellent catchy hook. Nobody's gonna forget the 17,000th time. It's your number now! Loved the a capella section!

overall nice steady rock tune! rhythm is powerful

infectious groove, strong vocals and harmonies - especially liked the vocal and harmony answer back breakdown part of the song.
