Story Behind The Song
This song has a number of different meanings to me. Last year I was crippled by a back injury where the pain was so intense that it was like I was living in total darkness-and I finally made up my mind that I was going to beat this thing-it was not going to break my spirit. But the other meaning was based upon a conversation that I had with a young friend that had just returned from Iraq. How he had described a combat situation in which things had looked bleak and how he had conquered his fear. My hope is that everyone will be able to find their own meaning in this song-in all my tunes.
Peace and kindness always,
Ken

Lyrics
TURN THE NIGHT INTO DAY
Enemies' all around us
Trying to tighten the noose
Night's going to be a long one
So cold and no moon
Sunset fades to darkness
Sky is black as ink
Silence is so deafening
My mind wants to scream
CHORUS
And the minutes seem like hours
And the hours last for days
Well I wish I were anywhere else in the world
Anywhere else but this place
And so I prayed
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
It's so tense, it's hard to think
Got a weird taste in my mouth
No one's giving us much of a chance
Guess there's no way out
But I summon up my courage
And a grin comes across my face
For I know deep down in my heart
My spirit they'll never take
REPEAT CHORUS
Instrumental Break
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
Turn the night into day
