Lyrics
FISHING CREEK W:Larry M Clark, BMI P:Ellemsee Music, BMI larrymyrtus@yahoo.com
VERSE 1
When I was a young boy, I'd plan all the week
for Saturday morning, to head for the creek
With my old cane pole and plenty of bait,
by late Friday evening, I could hardly wait
By Saturday morning, you know where I'd be,
down on the banks of old Fishing Creek
For fishing in the county, it was hard to beat,
and in the Spring, it was hard to find a seat
VERSE 2
Along the mossy banks, the local folks would cluster,
just for a chance to catch "Ol' Buster"
A fabulous Catfish sought for many a year,
but no one in the county had ever come near
I remember the year that I turned sixteen,
all the commotion of the banks of the stream
Workers came in, and leveled the land,
then began building a big chemical plant
BRIDGE
The machinery and people, the clamor every day,
won't affect a thing, was all they would say
But shortly thereafter, "Ol' Buster" washed ashore,
and Fishing Creek's not fishy anymore
CHORUS
Fishing Creek's not fishy anymore,
since the chemical plant was built upon it's shore
The water is barren and it's not even fit to swim,
the result of progress of man's latest whim
