Story Behind The Song
So-called 'Crazy' people have always fascinated me. And all too often I feel that 'normal, sane' people are neither. Who's to say that the world we see is the only one there is? Early on I found out that these people can be very smart, brilliant sometimes -- although, still.... something's not quite right. Many times, lost in thought, I've walked to a street corner in NYC, only to have the local ranting lunatic read my mind out loud.

Lyrics
Verse 1-
Her face was the color of red wine and rust
Her eyes were as black as coal
She walked in the door
She was looking at us
There was lightning in her soul
Verse 2-
They found her on the streets of Manhattan
wandering from side to side
She followed an invisible pattern
The moonlight was her guide
Chorus-
I don't know why I'm here
You don't know who I am
Don't touch me I'll break
I am glass, I am steel
Don't touch me, you can't
You won't reach me where I am
She was a beauty queen
Verse 3-
So maybe she was crazy, she was different from us
Or maybe she's not crazy at all
I wanna know what it was
How could she take one look
And see the bottom of my soul
Chorus
