Story Behind The Song
Valanga Khoza and Leo Dale are based in Melbourne Australia.
?Having known each other for 12 years, we finally got together for a gig in mid 2000 and instantly had the feeling: This is too good we must record immediately. Several of the tracks on the album (tracks 1, 3 and 4) are from that recording date, the second time we ever played together. Over the next 18 months there were an additional 2 recording dates and we stuck to the same method of - press RECORD and listen a lot.?
About the album - Driving Music
Their album Driving Music combines the world music sound of Valanga?s native South Africa and the European jazz of Leo?s flutes and saxes. Driving Music presents a modern global mix of sound. This album was recorded with a lot of patience but without losing the spontaneity that makes a great recording come alive. The product is a truly beautiful recording that works for dedicated listeners or equally to influence a mood while you are doing something else. Cover design includes photos of the musicians, all of the instruments played and some self-portraits of the duo that illustrate the warmth of affection that they share.
