Story Behind The Song
My father is a strong believer in Ufo's. Im a complete fence sitter on this one. He has showed me a few clips of sighting on youtube etc...and they always tend to be in the southern part of north america. So my tale is of a british policeman moving to the states with his american girlfriend (which isnt touched on in the story). And how his job becames more of a call centre for UFO sightings, when all he wants to do is his job as a police officer. The song is also an unbiased look at the possiblities of there being something else, and perhaps playing on stereotypes for the listener to laugh at OR take seriously. The aim of the song is a bit of fun and perhaps opening the debate to the general public again. The verses are to be sung by a british singer and the two calls that come in are a male and a female southern american voice.
THe song was rushed down, really i just want feed back on whether you think the song could have potential. I like the idea of banjos being played in certain parts and a uptempo beat during the callers part!
Song Description
British police officer moves to southern part of north america with his girlfriend. After a while the job is more about answering calls about UFO's than being a law enforcement officer. The verses are an internal monolgue, with the odd external comment and the callers are the phone chorus part, with the callers expressing a level of urgency.

Lyrics
UF-NO
I moved out here for love
i came to live the dream
but all i get are these crazy people constantly ringing me
it feels like every single call now is to report a sighting
hmmm extraterrestrial or these here people, whats more frightening?
(phone)
"I was sat there in my kitchen all alone eating my oates
a flash of light came through the window it was like the cat had seen a ghost
I went and found my camera and i pointed to the sky
it was there one minute, gone the next, shot off into the night"
COPPER
How am i supposed to react?
should i take these people seriously?
"are you sure sir it wasnt something you ate?
Next time perhaps try the muesli!"
(phone)
"hey there mr officer you need to get here soon,
theres something in the sky and its no god damned weather balloon,
my fields got them crop circles and my tractor couldnt do it,
cause the blades are mighty blunt, and oh my lord they couldnt cut through it"
Copper
Ill always aim to remain agnostic
in amongst the believers and the cynics
but until im on the ship
an a*al probe on a f****** great big stick
see his little green body and matching shoes to fit
ill stay here on the fence, you better believe it
CHORUS
UF NOoooo
UF noooooo
UF/YOU HAVE no idea what to believe
