Story Behind The Song
My wife and I was talking about how a lot of the new country songs sound like the old 70's rock tunes, and the idea just came to me to write this song.
Song Description
I wrote this as a tribute to the 70's Southern Rock Bands who shaped todays Country Music.

Lyrics
MAKE MINE COUNTRY
Well I come from the City Born in Birmingham
Down in the Heart of Dixie That?s just who I am
I grew up in the country sowin southern roots
We?d play that southern rock wearin cowboy hats and boots
Marshall Tucker and The Charlie Daniels Band
Ain?t no doubt about it I?m an Allman Brothers fan
But when the Eagles put that banjo in their songs
It?s been 30 years now and it?s still goin strong
Make Mine Country with a tad of rock and roll
Make Mine Country just sing it with some soul
Make Mine Country Y?all can sing along
Make Mine Country cause I dig a country song
Fire on the mountain take it to the limit
Searchin for a rainbow had steel guitar in it
Lyin eyes and ramblin man and Desperado
Long haired country boy has always been my motto
Fooled around and fell in love, can?t you see
The best of my love my baby and me
