Story Behind The Song

This song was inspired by my daughter's addiction to stuffed animals and claw machines. I've definitely lost my share of money at the claw machine. Maybe I'll make some money off of this song and recoup my losses. :-)

Lyrics
There's a guy named Joe by the claw machine
He came up to me, said you got any change
I don't have any change my fine feathered friend
But if you look over yonder there's a man named Dan
Well Dan has a job and his shoes are new
So I think he could loan you a quarter or two
You might get lucky at that claw machine
And catch a big bear or a bird that's green
The claw machine, the claw machine
The odds are against you at the claw machine
Everybody loves the claw machine
And we've all lost some money there
He said "I think I'll go ask that feller named Dan
He might just help me if he can"
So he walked up to Dan and tapped him on the shoulder
And said "Excuse me sir but could I borrow a quarter?"
Dan said "Sure little friend, here have four
But don't come back and ask for any more"
So Joe walked up to the claw machine
And dropped in a quarter that was shiny and clean
The claw machine, the claw machine
The odds are against you at the claw machine
Everybody loves the claw machine
And we've all lost some money there
On his first try he missed the bear
Then he thought to himself "Man, this ain't fair"
Next he tried for the big green bird
But he missed again and he was on his third
Quarter that is
On the third try he went for a yellow bunny
He missed again, said "Man this ain't funny"
With one quarter left he tried his luck
and he set his sights on a fuzzy red duck
The claw machine, the claw machine
Things are gettin' hectic at the claw machine
Everybody loves the claw machine
And we've all lost some money there
As the clawn dropped down he closed his eyes
And opened them up to a big surprise
Joe was the winner of a fuzzy red duck
He finally had his stroke of good luck
If you ever give the claw machine a go
Remember this story about a guy named Joe
With one quarter left it was looking rough
But with seconds to spare he grabbed the duck (and he got it!)
The claw machine, the claw machine
It's such a good feelin' at the claw machine
Let's all head to the claw machine
And try..... to win that fuzzy red duck!
