The Lion Hunters

How long does it take, to find a world that never dies; to share the life?
And change the way we waste our time?
Now everyone is so afraid. And children hide and children pray.
For better days. Always safe.
Why should they pay for our mistakes?

We close our eyes and play charades. We train the beasts for our parades.
We still the seas and waterways, and wonder why it will not rain.
And the lion hunters lie in wait. Another life that they might take.
I believe it just might be too late.

How long does it take, to feel your heart beat next to mine? To taste the wine?
To save the world in our lifetime?
Now everyone is so unsure, we've ruined the oceans and the shores.
We've lost our way. So we fade away.
Could it be that we'll never change?

We close our eyes and hide our shame. In this world we try to tame.
We pretend to know the game, and never give back what we take.
And the lion hunters lie in wait. Another kill that they might make.
I believe it just might be too late.
