Story Behind The Song

When I wrote the song, I had the image of a widowed or divorced man who hadn't been out much since losing his wife, a "strong silent type" who dislikes bars generally, but on this occasion makes a rare visit out of loneliness.

In 3/4 time, this song feels like the slow waltz the singer would like to have with someone s/he is attracted to. Although sung here by a woman, this first-person tale of potential romance is one that has been lived by both men and women the world over. H
