Story Behind The Song
The song reflects on a period when my co writer and I seemed (with best intentions) to be saying the wrong things to the wrong people at the wrong time, unwittingly upsetting them in some way. This was usually because there was more to the situation than we were aware of at the time. Well meaning comments and opinions kept back-firing like crazy, with consistently disastrous, yet hilarious results.

Lyrics
I'm here banging my head on the door
I just wish the floor
Would swallow me
I just blew the whole thing down again
Said it wrong again
What's the use
Every time I open my mouth
The strangest of things come out
It's tearing me inside out
If I could only say
What I'm thinking, another way
I'd be somebody else today
My aim is high, but I just seem to shoot
Myself in the foot, every time
To all the people I try to impress
I just can't express anything
Every time I open my mouth
The strangest of things come out
It's tearing me inside out
If I could only say
What I'm thinking, another way
I'd be somebody else today
I can't change
I may be strange
But that's the way I am
Every time I open my mouth
The strangest of things come out
It's tearing me inside out
If I could only say
What I'm thinking, another way
I'd be somebody else today
