Story Behind The Song
My brother is a Record Producer in Nashville and his name is Johnny. So I wrote the song for him. It is about him and myself as songwriters and producers.
Song Description
Very funny, humorous song about a Bar in any Country town and the people who are involved in every day life. It is about Singers, Sonwriters, Musicians and bar life, (some good, some bad). It tells the story from a musicians standpoint of singing songs and what they have to do to be able to sing their songs that they have written.

There's a place called Johnny's Bar
C
Where everybody is a star at Johnny's bar

Some drink whisky some drink tea

As for me I can't afford to be at Johnny's bar

The bartender thinks he's going to be
The next rockabilly Jerry Lee
D
The waitress should be back at school
C Am
She writes her songs by day
C Am
On Sundays she will pray
C D
She gets to sing one song an hour
C Bm
If she's on time to work at Johnny's bar
C G
If she's on time to work at Johnny's bar
G
The door man's had 4 wives before
C
That is why he works the doors, Looking for Number 5
D
He drinks too much and smokes a lot but
C G
Tonight, he's going to get his spot at Johnny's bar
C D
He gets to sing one song an hour, if he's not
Too drunk at Johnny's Bar
D
When it comes time, to close the door
C Am
He gets one more encore
C
That's what he's working for
C Bm
If he's on time to work at Johnny's bar
C G
If he's on time to work at Johnny's bar
C (Bridge)
It's Nashville's home to celebrities,
C
Americas Home grown royalty at Johnny's Bar
D
Young and old they gather round,
C
Looking for the perfect sound at Johnny's Bar

For the radio to play

The special song that we heard
Saturday night a special word
