Story Behind The Song

Written for my beloved Cliff Rasmussen. He is my next door neighbor who is about to turn 97. I sang this song for him on his birthday. He was my angel for a long time, helping me with all kinds of chores around the house. It was so hard to see him so helpless, see when I wrote this song, he was having serious health problems and was hospitalized. Also, the first day that I perform this song, the tree on our yard just split in two without any breeze. It was the most remarkable thing ever. You just never know what is going to happen on any given day. For sure the safest place to be is under His wings.

Song Description

Under His Wings based on the old Hymn by William Cushing. When we live under the umbrella of God?s authority and seek to obey His commands, the enemy may oppose us and even oppress us, but he cannot impede the fulfillment of God?s plan for our lives. When we surrender our wills to the will of our Father, we find a place of blessed immunity. Strengthened by His power and shielded by His protection, we will reach our goal. Christ Jesus longs to draw us under the shelter of His wings. He yearns to lavish us with His possessive, protective love and to cover us from so many unnecessary harms.
