Story Behind The Song
The song follows a young man and his friend who is facing financial struggles. The subject of the story tells his friend that if he lines the leather and empties the cloth, which means be careful how you use your wallet and take everything out of your pockets, and he'll be ok. However, in the end, the subject realizes that his friend needs his help, and says "line my leather, empty out my cloth, pick your pockets and you'll find a way on top." This song is about real love; surrendering yourself for the good of someone who you love. I actually wrote this song about my mother but changed the line to brother because I thought it sounded better.

Lyrics
The house is getting cold again,
And the trees are growing thin.
Line the leather, empty out the cloth,
Pick your pockets 'til you find your way on top.
*Chorus*
Call me again, like we used to,
Back when we were friends.
How I've missed you, my brother,
Come be revived by the water.
I can feel it, winter time again,
Frozen pennies 'neath the snowfall.
Line the leather, empty out the cloth,
Searching for answers'til you find your way on top.
*Chorus*
Call me again, like we used to,
Back when we were friends.
How I've missed you, my brother,
Come be revived by the water.
And I will walk to the ends of the Earth,
To see you smile again.
I will raise the dead, and bring new life,
And I will make the trees grow.
You know the winter, damages the green,
And times are harder than they ever have been,
Line the leather, empty out the cloth,
We'll pick their pockets and we'll make it out on top
*Chorus*
Sing out again, wipe off the tears that you've let collect,
Line my leather, empty out my cloth,
Pick my pockets 'til you wind your way on top.
