Story Behind The Song
This song was written for a wonderful, selfless woman who dedicated 35 years of her life to teaching thousands of children and their children, and in some cases, their children as well. She never had any children of her own, yet she gave of herself in ways that parents can't, and only teachers who border on the verge of being saints are able. She was truly a remarkable person and a creature of true, unconditional love who was responsible for opening the eyes of so many, as well as the
doors of the world.
Song Description

Lyrics
Hello, Ms. Brooks, do you remember my first day?
I was so scared until you took my fear away,
I learned to read that year,
And every day you made it clear,
That I could do most anything,
Anything at all,
I could do most anything,
Anything at all,
Hello, Ms. Brooks, you were the first to teach me math,
You took me by the hand,
And set me on a path,
You said if I could multiply,
Than I could even learn to fly,
And I could do most anything,
Anything at all,
I could do most anything,
Anything at all,
1st Bridge:
You gave the greatest gift that that the world has ever known,
I harvest wisdom from the seeds of knowledge you have sown,
And for the many lessons you can't find in books,
I thank you for those most of all,
I thank you, Ms. Brooks.
Instrumental:
Hello Ms. Brooks, I never thought I'd pass fifth grade,
I'd like to thank you for the difference you made,
You made me realize by letting me look through your eyes,
That I could do most anything, anything at all,
I could do most anything, anything at all,
2nd Bridge:
Hello, Ms. Brooks, I'd like for you to meet my son,
My school days are over now,
But his have just begun,
I'm gonna give him now,
The world you gave to me somehow,
And he will do most anything,
Anything at all,
Anything and everything, and anything at all,
Oh, he will do most anything, anything at all,
Anything and everything,
And everything, most anything at all.
